I am reminded of an essay by Simone Weil on the abolition of all political parties.Mizgînhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01850990661771197094noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19312979.post-1135315403082483132005-12-22T21:23:00.000-08:002005-12-22T21:23:00.000-08:00This is surely a nasty blot on the history of the ...This is surely a nasty blot on the history of the Kurdish people. The late great Mala Mustafa Barzani must be spinning in his grave, to see how his own son has adopted the techniques and attitudes of a Turkish pasha, in order to silence a respected man--a Kurd!!--who did nothing more than publish peaceful and constructive criticisms. A free people and country NEEDS critics like this, they are the vitamins of a democracy that ensure it doesn't become sclerotic, corrupt, and despotic.

More practically, if this DOES become a real trend, then when the inevitable Zero Hour arrives when other powers have to make a choice between allying with Turkey, or doing nothing, or allying with the Kurds...well, it is going to make it a lot easier to do nothing, or ally with the Turks.

Can't Kak Barzani see this? It's as plain as the nose on his face...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
